Amelia GraviottoWe had the chance to chat with Amelia Graviotto (account coordinator, Buenos Aires) to discuss her favorite opportunities at Edelman and her role with our Global Women’s Equality Network in Argentina.

What is your role and how long have you been at Edelman?
I joined Edelman in 2012 to be part of the Technology practice. I was responsible of implementing communications plans and positioning clients in the local market through media relations strategies.

How do you describe what you do for a living to your family and friends?
In general, I usually tell people that PR is a very broad career that has given me the opportunity to do all kinds of tasks. We are the intermediaries between companies and different external audiences (media, government, etc.).

What attracted you to Edelman? Following that, what is your favorite thing about working here?
I discovered Edelman in a job search that appeared on my university's website. What interested me the most was that it is a leading global communications firm. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with talented colleagues and to virtually meet other people from other offices around the world. I love working in such a diverse environment.

What has been your favorite project that you've worked on?
Leading our Global Women’s Equality Network (GWEN) at the local level has been one of the most important opportunities. In Buenos Aires, I recently had the opportunity to work with G(irls)20 annual seminar -- an NGO that works for the empowerment of young women around the world -- which has been one of my favorite projects to work on. Being able to meet the delegates (women between 18 and 21 years old) and learn about their cultures was a very enriching and inspiring experience.

What advice would you give to your younger self?
I’d tell her that you must face all challenges that the world may throw at you. And when you get over your fears, you will gain more confidence to achieve great things.

What have you learned about yourself as your career progressed?
That there are no limits. And sooner or later, the opportunities come, and your dreams can come true.

What are some causes that you are passionate about?
I am passionate about being able to help and educate the clients I work with and generate creative solutions to resolve internal and external conflicts.

What are some of your favorite things to do outside of work?
I enjoy working out, getting dinner and drinks with friends and sharing moments with my family.

Inside Edelman is an ongoing series that spotlights our colleagues who are doing extraordinary work across our network.
